but i disregarded that as its a shitty angle of criticism...
I listened at the mix mostly. It was excellently done, but the part at 0:56 where the bassline keeps reversing into the kick was just annoying really.
Still it was pretty well made.
3/5 - 7/10

Not DnB.
But thats not why its not a 10. Mainly because its so short. And that damn ejay voice...

but the tambourine should be lowered like 2 or 3 dBs
otherwise, zero pretty much nailed it with the Final Fantasy comment.
This is definitely JRPG material.
Well done for your first, no doubt about that!
Author's Response:
lol this is now my highest rated song. Maybe my ears are decieving me, I thought this song blew utter ass even for atari soundtrack, but maybe it doesn't.
Thanks for the review though, I'll make sure to check out your first song lol.

and theres some slight speedcore in there too...
very entertaining!
hey, if you're into the more extreme hardcore, try listening to my song "The Underground Extreme". It's a definity earslayer. ;D

Brings me back. Wonderful rendition of the theme. Though I get kind of pissed when I remember how fucking close the answer to the entire game is to where you start...
Anyway, mixed efficiently, maybe just a tiny bit more mid/low frequencys on the bell.
Great stuff.
Author's Response:
Hahahah. True indeed. You realize near the end of the game.... "OMG, I could've beaten this game in five minutes!" Fortunately that's not the case with the sequels.

you should put this in a different genre. Miscellaneous would be quite fitting. ;D
It's pretty good noise/ambient actually.

well, its not really perfect, but since i used FT2 alot back in the day, i know it can be a bitch to get good sound. it was cool ;D
This wouldn't have anything to do with a certain "DJ Nosferatu" formerly known as Myztic? If so, check out my hardcore track "The Underground Extreme".
Nice oldschool shit. ;D

smashing performance, good sir.
yeah, it was a nice song, but its empty without vocals. The song in itself gets a little generic here and there, but it could definately kick som ass with maybe some synths and shit, or as said, vox.
n1 otherwise.
Author's Response:
As I said. Feel free to fit a symphony on this :) Cheers.

But honestly, theres not a shred of Hardcore in here, imo. Still I like the vox. Maybe a little more time on the mixing and mastering, and booyah! ;D

It's a very solid tune, but needs some slight mixing and mastering. The brass for instance should be lowered in gain (dB). It dominates the song whenever it comes in. Im not talking alot here, just down by maybe 1 or 1.5 dB. Once its done, I recommend you try adding some effects to different instruments to see if it melds the song together more. Reverb and quiet delays can be really useful for this.
Hope my review helps. Good stuff right here, and serious flash authors could certainly use a piece such as this with just a little more work done on it. Go to the Audio forum regularly and see if theres anyone in need of symphonic music, if you havent allready. ;D
Summary: It's rare to see positive music anywhere these days. Great work.
Author's Response:
Thank you very much for your feedback!
Adding effects to various instruments could be difficult (seeing as I use Sibelius 5) with KontaktPlayer (such as a natural reveb), but I'll see if that is possible!
I'll see if I can lower the gain of the brass too.
Again, thank you very much for the feedback!
